TKA Lotus Service Trip 2024

Dear Parents, Good morning! To follow up and update you on what students did after lunch yesterday, Day 3, students continued cleaning up the campground by raking the dried leaves.  Then they gave students a long break until dinner which students appreciated. After dinner, we had a time of worship and devotional. The rain was the only hiccup we had last night.  The rain crept into one tent a little more than others due to the amount of rain and the design of the tent, but we all slept through the night alright.  It is our Day 4 at the camp. Today a small group stayed behind to work at the Rock N Water site while most of us came to the Placer Height Baptist Church to lend help.  We are divided into groups of 6 to  clean out planters and put in new bark move cans of paint out of the shed trim back vegetation pick up leaves put back fence deciders cut back bush at back gate replace painted vents clean baptismal tub and  distribute Easter bags to the neighbors We will b

Dear parents, To recap Day 2, students had a blast rafting yesterday.    We finished the day with a few worship songs and a devotional by the campfire.  It is Day 3 now.    We all slept well and woke up in time for a warm breakfast. We then had a quiet time by the river with a prompt to reflect individually on how God designed us and the things we take for granted.   In the morning, we were divided into several different groups to (1) build a big tent for a boat, (2) clean up the camp ground by picking up branches and burning them, (3) secure a tarp, (4) remove an oak tree that was blocking a pathway and more.  Students are serving wholeheartedly and are representing Christ and TKA very well. Good morning parents! We had a good night of sleep in our cozy tents and woke up in time for a nice breakfast. After one day of service, students will have a fun day of rafting today. Hello parents! Everyone arrived safely to Rock N Water around noon today. I have been meaning to let you know sooner, but the wifi here is not great.  After some light food, we built our tents and we started to clean the park already.  It is almost 6 pm now and we are about to  have dinner. The dinner looks great and we are mighty hungry.  I will keep you updated as the week goes by and  as I can access wifi   Thanks! Alex Park
